- New to the Andalusian World Cup? Learn how classes are run, what judges look for, and how to prepare your Iberian horse for show day.
The Andalusian World Cup has become North America’s signature stage for Iberian horses. If it’s your first time, here’s what to expect. Classes typically include halter (morphology), dressage from Intro to FEI, Working Equitation (WE) levels, and specialty classes. Management publishes patterns and schedules early; read them and walk the arena if allowed.
Judges focus on breed type, correctness, and athleticism. In under-saddle classes, balance and rhythm matter more than flashy movement alone. For WE, practice smooth, accurate lines between obstacles and show clear transitions.
Packing? Bring a clean, well-fitted bridle, a second girth, spare reins, hoof polish, towels, and number strings. Keep your stall front tidy; it reflects professionalism.
On show day, arrive early, warm up in short sets (10–12 minutes), and give your horse a mental break before the gate. Breathe, smile, and ride your plan. Win or learn—every trip builds confidence for the next class.
